This report details the outcomes of the Public Policy Forum’s recent Breadbasket 2.0 initiative on agricultural innovation policy in the Canadian Prairies. The Forum convened a series of roundtable discussions in the spring of 2013 which culminated in the Breadbasket 2.0 Summit, June 17-18 in Saskatoon.

Leaders from across the public, private, producer, and research sectors called for a renewed focus on agricultural innovation in the Prairies to drive economic growth and bolster global food security. There was strong consensus that the Prairie region can be more productive, collaborative, and efficient in leveraging its considerable resources to take advantage of domestic and international opportunities.
