Canada Next

illustration of disruptive technology governance issues

About the Project:

Canada Next will convene experts on the economy, the future of work, climate adaptation and governance to confront challenges posed by emerging and disruptive technologies. The initiative will draw on the insights of experts with experience in both the machinery of government and in disruptive technologies to identify and engage in candid and creative discussions about how to address the most compelling issues on the horizon. The ultimate goal of Canada Next is to create innovative and actionable policy solutions to address the vexing questions that are and will soon be confronting government.

Methodology: PPF will host a series of discussions with leading experts in each of the four policy areas, inviting experts to brainstorm and develop ideas for innovative policy solutions. The most viable ideas will be developed into actionable policy proposals and drafted into a report to inform policy and platform development across Canada.

Timeline: January 2018 – January 2019

Partners: Privy Council Office, Governments of Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and the Northwest Territories, Cisco and Accenture.
