Report on Counsultations to review the Access to Information Act and its Implementation

In August 2000, the federal government launched a comprehensive review of the Access to Information (ATI) framework and in March 2001, the Forum was awarded a contract to conduct roundtable consultations with stakeholders outside government with an interest in access to information. The Forum issued 480 invitations and convened four roundtables between May 23 and June 6. A total of 59 participants from public interest groups, the media, business, academia, and labour attended the roundtables. The Forum interviewed and received written inputs from approximately 100 invitees and experts.
