Expanding the Circle: What Reconciliation and Inclusive Economic Growth Can Mean for First Nations and Canada

On Feb. 15, 2017, the Public Policy Forum (PPF), in partnership with the National Aboriginal Economic Development Board (NAEDB), the National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association (NACCA) and Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC), convened a full-day conference in Ottawa entitled Expanding the Circle: What Reconciliation and Inclusive Economic Growth Can Mean for First Nations and Canada. This was the first in a three-part series of conferences on reconciliation and inclusive economic growth — a Métis-focused conference will be held in Winnipeg in June, and an Inuit-focused conference will take place in Iqaluit in September.

This interim report synthesizes the experiences, perspectives and ideas shared during the course of this conference, including remarks from Hon. Jody Wilson-Raybould, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada. The PPF will release a final, comprehensive report following the conclusion of this conference series.
