The Prime Ministers of Canada Fellowship
As the Forum celebrates its Silver Anniversary Year it is our honour to commemorate the contribution of our former Prime Ministers to Canada’s history of good governance. While all living former Prime Ministers have been honoured at the 25th Annual Testimonial Dinner on May 3rd, the Forum seeks to continue their example of public policy leadership beyond this special event.
Thus, we are pleased to announce the Prime Ministers of Canada Fellowship, created to engage eminent Canadian thought leaders in helping to guide the Forum’s work on themes related to public service and governance. The Prime Ministers of Canada Fellows will apply their expertise and wisdom in leading new initiatives to help enhance the governance of our country.
On the occasion of our 25th Annual Testimonial Dinner in Toronto on May 3rd, the Public Policy Forum was pleased to announce that Peter MacKinnon, O.C. will serve as the inaugural Prime Ministers of Canada Fellow, beginning in September, 2012.
Peter has served as President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Saskatchewan since July 1999. He has a long and continuing history of public policy leadership as a legal scholar and advisor to governments in areas of innovation and justice. He also serves as a member of the Prime Minister’s Advisory Committee on the Public Service. The Forum looks forward to what will surely be a productive and transformative collaboration with Peter over the coming year.
