The inaugural Prime Ministers of Canada Fellow was Peter MacKinnon, former President and Vice Chancellor of the University of Saskatchewan and one of our country’s most thoughtful academic leaders. He devoted his fellowship to studying the role of universities and public policy.

We are particularly proud that Peter wrote an important book during his time as our inaugural Prime Ministers of Canada’s Fellow: University Leadership and Public Policy in the Twenty-First Century: a President’s Perspective (U of T Press). Written from an insider’s perspective with frankness and clarity, Peter provides a timely analysis of key policy issues facing Canadian universities today.
