Public Policy Forum Welcomes Garnet Garven

09/23/2009

The Public Policy Forum is pleased to announce that Garnet Garven will be joining the PPF as the Forum's first Senior Fellow, with responsibility for the PPF's new Western office in Regina, Saskatchewan.

"I am excited to begin working with Garnet on policy issues of national concern while simultaneously extending the reach of the Forum into Western Canada," said Mitchell. "The PPF was born at a meeting that took place in Western Canada,  in Calgary, in 1987, so while the creation of a western office is an exciting new chapter in our development, it is at the same time very much a 'coming home' of sorts."

Professor Garven's appointment is effective immediately. Most recently the Deputy Minister to the Premier of Saskatchewan and Cabinet Secretary, Garven served as the Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Regina for 12 years.  He is an accomplished leader in policy development, and has taught and researched business policy, corporate governance and senior management teams.  He has management experience across the municipal, provincial, educational and Crown Corporation sectors.

The Public Policy Forum is an independent, not-for-profit organization that aims to improve the quality of government in Canada through enhanced dialogue among the public, private and voluntary sectors.
