Canada Growth Summit 3: Going the Distance

When: Jeudi 12 Avril 2018, 7h15

Where: Metro Toronto Convention Centre, 255 Front St. West, Toronto, ON M5V 3L9

Canada Growth Summit 3 is designed as an annual forum of intense and informed interchange through which the private, public, academic and other sectors can gather to think through and debate how to enhance the growth of the economy and prosperity for Canadians. Discussions aim to generate fresh policy thinking and understanding through creative programming, fresh perspectives and a healthy tension among participants. The goal is to better understand and apply PPF’s concentration on the social and economic determinants of growth under rapidly changing economic circumstances.

Confirmed speakers: Dominic Barton, Janice Fukakusa, Mark Carney, Yoshua Bengio

The focus is resolutely long-term. Canada is predicted to outperform many of its G7 counterparts on economic growth in the immediate term, yet innovation, productivity and competiveness remain a challenge, as does growth that is inclusive and thereby politically sustainable. What is entailed in Going the Distance.

Capturing the spirit and ambition of the exercise, the first Canada Growth Summit was called Beyond Two Percent and the second was called What it Takes. These summits are tied in with the Public Policy Forum’s Annual Testimonial Dinner, the 31st version of which will take place on the evening of April 12, 2018.
