Les universités vouées à la recherche doivent être en mesure de saisir les occasions et de relever les défis liés à l'internalisation et à la mondialisation. Elles doivent élargir leur vision internationale et compter sur leurs solides assises de recherche afin de rivaliser avec les marchés émergents en pleine expansion. Dans cette économie mondiale, le rôle des universités est essentiel au développement économique et doit également servir les marchés nationaux. Mais comment miser sur cette activité pour concurrencer efficacement sur la scène mondiale? Comment accroître leur part de marché des projets internationaux de R. et D. tout en aidant leur pays à répondre à ses besoins en matière de ressources humaines dans une société fondée sur le savoir?
