Public Confidence: A Path for Responsible Development

When: Tuesday, September 29, 2015 - Tuesday, November 10, 2015

Where: Various cities across the country

Resource development projects increasingly require not just regulatory approval, but also community support to proceed. However, shifting public perceptions, industry practices, and government policies make public confidence a moving target. As Canada seeks new opportunities for economic growth, ensuring a balanced approach to responsible development will prove essential for the future prosperity of all Canadians.

To explore key challenges and best practices in building public confidence in major projects, the Public Policy Forum is conducting interviews and convening a series of roundtable discussions with stakeholders and experts across sectors and regions. This research will culminate in the publication of a report that will help inform future efforts in securing public confidence.

While participation is by invitation only, roundtable summaries and the report will be available on the Forum’s website following the conclusion of the project.
