Optimizing Government: Modernization in the Public Sector

When: Tuesday, April 21, 2015 - Tuesday, April 28, 2015

Where: Montreal, Victoria, and Edmonton

Governments have to thrive in an increasingly complex, rapidly changing context that demands more collaboration and innovation than ever before. Faced with tightening budgets and shifting demographics, public sector leaders must also prioritize fiscal management and employee engagement to effectively maximize talent and resources. How are current structures and processes meeting new demands? How can they be optimized to enhance impact?

Building on the theme of Public Service Next, Canada’s Public Policy Forum is exploring what government modernization means today, where changes are needed, and how to ensure successful transformation. In addition to two roundtables in 2014, three more multi-sector leadership discussions will take place across the country. This project will culminate in a white paper that will help advance efforts to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness across the public sector.

While participation is by invitation only, roundtable summaries and the white paper will be available on the Forum’s website following the conclusion of the project.
