National Roundtable on Youth Voter Engagement

When: Tuesday, June 5, 2012 - 08:15 - 16:30

Where: Ottawa

Canada’s Public Policy Forum, in partnership with Elections Canada, convened a day-long deliberative session in Ottawa to find common understanding among multi-sector stakeholders on the issue of youth voter engagement.

The roundtable worked to develop a shared understanding of the issue of declining voter engagement among young Canadians, and sought to agree on individual and collective actions that would address the issue. The invitation-only session featured 25 stakeholder groups including: youth serving organizations, educational groups, private sector companies, think-tanks, student federations, and democracy-related non-governmental organizations.
