Integrated Waste Management Symposium

When: Thursday, February 1, 2007

Where: Toronto

A cross section of some 60 stakeholders from the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors, including various levels of government from across Canada, met in Toronto to discuss public policy challenges and opportunities related to waste management in Canada. Participants engaged in a candid dialogue about the elements, impacts, and barriers to an integrated waste management system. This dialogue was seen as a first step in looking at models of waste management that integrate diversion, landfill, and new technologies that recover energy from waste.
