Where: Various cities
This spring we launched a series of regional roundtables on the subject of resource sector innovation. As a follow up to Innovation in Canada's Resource Sector, our conference convened October 22, 2010 in Calgary, these roundtables engaged senior stakeholders in a focused manner to address questions surrounding the future of Canada's resource industries.
Themes discussed during theses sessions include:
- What makes innovation in the natural resources so unique? What are its strengths and weaknesses?
- How is innovation encouraged in the natural resource sector, and in what form does it take place? What are the drivers of innovation?
- Are natural resource industries facing barriers to innovation not experienced by other sectors of the economy? What are these barriers? What future challenges in innovation are expected? Where are investments and innovation in the natural resource sector most needed?
A series of six roundtables were convened across Canada, bringing together about 20 senior leaders at each session.
