Innovation and the Human Brain: A Leadership Summit co-organized by IBM, the Public Policy Forum and Baycrest

When: Monday, May 16, 2011 - 08:30 - 18:30

Where: Markham, ON

Leaders in all sectors understand that advancing innovation is foundational to establishing stronger economic and social foundations in our communities, provinces and country. It is equally understood that action must be taken in all sectors, and that collaboration across these sectors is key to success.

In this spirit, IBM, the Public Policy Forum and Baycrest partnered to convene the 3rd annual leaders summit on innovation, which was held at the IBM Canada Software Lab in Markham. This year's focus was on the human brain, and the significant science and innovation work which is spurring Ontario to become a world leader in neuroscience. The summit considered how these efforts need to be stewarded to spur real innovation, what collaboration is needed to build Ontario as a global centre for brain research, and what can be learned and applied as we seek to advance innovation in other fields.

Speakers included:

Those leading and active in innovation in industry, government and academe were invited to join their colleagues for this summit, and to contribute to direction in innovation and the human brain as well as influence the broader collective efforts needed to establish a culture and practice of innovation in Ontario and in Canada.
