Improving Canada’s Business Environment and Competitiveness

When: Tuesday, January 23, 2007

Where: Ottawa

The Forum hosted a conference to discuss the Government of Canada’s recent Economic Plan as defined in the Advantage Canada document. Canada is amongst the most successful and prosperous of nations, but there is room for improvement with regards to productivity levels and a competitive business environment. As well, global supply chains, the rise of Asia, and high energy prices are having a dramatic transformative effect on the Canadian economy, and require appropriate policy responses. Featuring an array of prominent speakers, the conference examined how the proposals outlined in Advantage Canada could improve the business environment and Canada’s competitiveness.
