When: Wednesday, January 30, 2008

Where: Toronto

This conference considered the explanation for the dollar’s rapid rise at the beginning of 2008, and the implications for the Canadian economy and how both business and governments are responding to these challenges. From a wait-and-see approach, a full range of policy options were considered, from government assistance to the manufacturing sector to currency union with the U.S. Participants had the opportunity to meet decision-makers and other leaders from business and government to discuss these issues.
