Executive Seminar on the Effect of IFRS on Personal Accountability of Non-Financial Executives

When: Friday, December 4, 2009 - 08:15

Where: Public Policy Forum, Ottawa

This executive seminar, hosted by PPF on behalf of IFRS Practice LLP, allowed participants to examine directors' and non-financial executives' business challenges and the new accountability/legal liability obligations being triggered by the introduction of IRFS.

This half-day event discussed the challenges, obligations and responsibilities of directors, CEOs and non-financial executives (NFEs) associated with the adoption of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in Canada. IFRS increases the volume and complexity of financial disclosures. With its stress on 'granual accountability' and better informed stakeholders, IFRS requires an increase in attention of top executives and corporate counsel, management boards and external stakeholders to critical corporate governance steps.
