When: Wednesday, May 23, 2007

Where: Ottawa

Sport and physical activity are essential elements in Canadian life, whether as a source of fun and relaxation, as an important vehicle for social engagement, or as a way to enhance a shared sense of local, regional or Canadian pride. There seems to be an emerging new appreciation for the potential impacts of sport and physical activity, and the implications they can have on other realms society such as the public health, the economy or the development of youth. This session brought together federal officials with leaders from the sport and recreation community to uncover new possibilities, to make connections, and to build new networks.
