Broadening Talent Pathways: Cross-Sector Career Mobility in Canada

When: Thursday, June 18, 2015 - Monday, November 16, 2015

Where: Ottawa, Calgary

Research and international experiences demonstrate that cross-sectoral mobility can help to build the skills and knowledge required by all sectors to thrive in today’s complex environment. Canada’s prosperity depends on high-performing public, private and nonprofit sectors with the capacity and networks to advance cross-sector solutions to unprecedented challenges.

The Public Policy Forum is exploring opportunities to improve upon existing mobility programs through interviews and roundtable discussions with leaders across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. The first roundtable took place on June 18 in Ottawa, followed by a second discussion on November 16 in Calgary. This project will culminate in a report that summarizes key challenges, best practices, and recommendations for action. The report will be available on the Forum’s website following the conclusion of the project.
