The Public Policy Forum's 25th Anniversary
In 2012, the Public Policy Forum celebrated 25 years of advancing public policy in Canada.
25 YEARS: THE FORUM WAY
We wanted to mark our silver anniversary with a brief account explaining why we are in business and how we have got to where we are today. Instead of cataloguing PPF events, reports and programs through the years, we asked our current and former Presidents to reflect on their time at the helm and the measures they took to keep the Forum relevant and viable in a changing political and public policy environment.
25TH ANNIVERSARY LECTURE SERIES
In 2012, to celebrate 25 years of leadership in policy dialogue, Canada’s Public Policy Forum partnered with Canadian universities to convene a national speakers’ series. Four prominent Canadians delivered fascinating public lectures on a broad range of topics, reflecting the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for Canadian society. THE PRIME MINISTERS OF CANADA FELLOWSHIP
While all living former Prime Ministers have been honoured at the 25th Annual Testimonial Dinner on May 3rd, 2012, the Forum seeks to continue their example of public policy leadership beyond this special event.
We are pleased to announce the Prime Ministers of Canada Fellowship, created to engage eminent Canadian thought leaders in helping to guide the Forum’s work on themes related to public service and governance. The Prime Ministers of Canada Fellows will apply their expertise and wisdom in leading new initiatives to help enhance the governance of our country.
In September 2012, Peter MacKinnon, O.C. began serving the inaugural Prime Ministers of Canada Fellow.
25TH ANNUAL TESTIMONIAL DINNER & AWARDS
As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, the Public Policy Forum honoured all of Canada's living former prime ministers at its 25th Annual Testimonial Dinner & Awards on May 3, 2012, in Toronto.
The Forum's Testimonial Dinner gathers over 1,100 leaders from all sectors of society to pay tribute to extraordinary Canadians from all walks of life who exemplify the Forum's commitment to achieving greater understanding and cooperation between the public and private sectors, and to improve the quality of government in Canada.
